While the schedule for the upcoming Asia Cup had already been announced, the venues remained uncertain—until now. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially confirmed that the prestigious tournament will be held across two venues in the UAE: Dubai and Abu Dhabi, from September 9 to 28. The grand finale will take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
With the 2025 ICC T20 World Cup in mind, this edition of the Asia Cup will follow the T20 format. A total of eight teams will compete in this coveted tournament—India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, UAE, and Oman. The teams have been divided into two groups.
Group A consists of India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.
Bangladesh will kick off their campaign on September 11 against Hong Kong. The Tigers will then face Sri Lanka on September 13 and Afghanistan on September 16. All of Bangladesh's group stage matches will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile, Group A matches will be hosted in Dubai. The tournament opener will see hosts UAE taking on India on September 10. The highly anticipated India-Pakistan encounter is scheduled for September 14 at the same venue. Team India will conclude their group stage fixtures against Oman on September 19.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage, commencing on September 20. The tournament will culminate with the final on September 28 in Dubai.
Originally, India was set to host the 2025 Asia Cup. However, due to political tensions between India and Pakistan, the latter refused to travel to India. As a result, the ACC opted for a neutral venue, choosing the UAE, a country with a proven track record of successfully hosting major international cricket events.
