This was stated by Akhtar Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Election Commission, during a briefing after a meeting with the Commonwealth pre-election observation team at the EC office in Agargaon, the capital, on Saturday afternoon (26 October).
He said, “There is no uncertainty regarding the election. Following the roadmap, the commission is steadily moving forward with all preparations. Coordination is being maintained with all parties while carrying out these preparations.”
The EC secretary further stated that the registration process for new political parties will be completed within this week. Additionally, if there is a coalition election, rules regarding symbol allocation and the decision on BNP’s application will be announced soon.
During the meeting, the Election Commission discussed issues such as youth voter participation, RPO (Representation of the People Order) amendments, continuous dialogue with stakeholders, election security arrangements, prevention of technology misuse, and electoral assistance.
Akhtar Ahmed added, “Our goal is to conduct a transparent, impartial, and participatory election. Preparations are being carried out carefully, taking every aspect into consideration.”
