US presidential election; Trump ahead in preliminary results
Voting for the US presidential election is almost over. Republican candidate Donald Trump is ahead in preliminary results. According to the British media CNN, Trump is ahead in 154 electoral votes. On the other hand, Democratic party candidate Kamla Harris is ahead in 30.
Kamala Harris got about 2 crore 39 lakh in the votes counted till 8 am Bangladesh time on Wednesday (November 6). On the other hand, Trump got more than 2.75 million votes. The number of votes received is increasing every minute.
According to CNN, the US-based media, Trump's party is ahead in 42 seats in the Senate, the upper house of Congress, while Kamala's party is ahead in 32 seats. And in the lower house of the House of Representatives or the House of Representatives, Trump's party has a glimpse of being ahead in 93. On the other hand, Kamal's party is ahead in the House of Representatives with 54 seats.
In the United States, the president is elected through the Electoral College. Members of the Senate and House of Representatives elected by popular vote elect representatives. The president is elected by the verdict of these representatives i.e. Electoral College vote.
The total number of electoral college votes is 538. A candidate who gets 270 or more votes. He will be elected President of America.
