At the beginning of the letter, he assured Trump that Bangladesh fully supports the US trade policy and will take all kinds of steps needed for its success.
It also said that Bangladesh took the first initiative to increase US exports to the rapid growing market of 5 million people. It is also reported that the trade adviser is coordinating the activities with the US trade representative.
"We are continuing to impose zero tariffs on American agricultural commodities in South Asia, imposing minimum tariffs on US exports." On the other hand, I am also working to reduce tariffs on top US exports (such as gas turbines, semiconductor, medical equipment).
The letter also states that various non -tariff barriers imposed on US exports such as packaging, labeling, certification process are being made easier. Also, arrangements have been made to simplify the customs process and criteria. In Bangladesh, necessary steps have been taken to launch Starlink in Bangladesh, adding that it will introduce a new era for US business establishments, especially in civil aviation and defense sectors.
Finally, the customs system imposed on export of Bangladeshi goods to the United States was requested to be postponed for three months.
