German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck accused newly elected US President Donald Trump of trying to divide Europe. News, Anadolu Agency.

Habeck warned that Trump tried to crack European unity by making deals with different countries in the previous term. He is again indicating that he will repeat that effort.

 In an interview with Germany's state broadcaster Deutschlandfunk, Habeck said Europe must be united. Germany in particular is insisting on European unity.

Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz criticized Trump's recent comments on the "acquisition" of Greenland and Canada. He said, border movement cannot be done by force. This principle applies and is a cornerstone of our peace order.

Incidentally, Trump had earlier expressed interest in Greenland, an Arctic region belonging to Denmark. At a recent press conference, Trump did not rule out military action to gain control of Greenland or the Panama Canal.
