The resignation of the Prime Minister of Serbia in the face of the student movement

Regarding the resignation, Milošić Vučević said that he took this decision in order not to complicate the situation and increase tension in society.

Earlier on Monday, the country's students blocked an important road in the capital Belgrade. Farmers also joined with huge tractors. After they blocked the road, the pressure on the Prime Minister to resign increased. However, Milos Vucevic had reportedly decided to resign the night before.

On November 15, the roof of a railway station in Novi Sad city collapsed, killing 15 people. After this incident, the students started protesting alleging corruption. They claim that if there was no corruption during the construction of the station, so many people would not have lost their lives. Serbia's communications minister, Goran Vesic, was forced to resign immediately after a railway station roof collapsed, killing civilians. But despite this, the students continued to protest.

Last Monday, President Aleksandar Vukic announced talks with protesters and major changes in government. But the city came to a standstill as students laid siege to the heart of the capital.
Aleksandar Vukic claims that foreign powers supported the student protests without any evidence. He even alleged that the opposition was trying to gain political advantage over the accident.

There have been attacks on students every day in the country since the protests started last November. But the movement continued to grow and at one point spread to over a hundred cities. One by one, judicial department officials, teachers, businessmen and common people started supporting this movement.
