U.P. temple gets FCRA nod without request

The Union Home Ministry has granted registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 2010 to the famous Banke Bihari temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Vrindavan, enabling it to receive donations from foreign countries for “religious” activity. The temple’s priests, however, said they had never applied for the registration.

A massive explosion ripped through an ordnance factory in Maharashtra’s Bhandara district on Friday (January 24, 2025) morning, leaving eight people dead and five injured. A Special Investigation Team has been set up by the Bhandara district administration and the Superintendent of Police, to ascertain the cause of the blast, and the factory has also set up an inquiry committee.

Tribal woman killed in tiger attack in Wayanad; residents stage protest

Intense protests erupted at Mananthavady in Wayanad district of Kerala after a tribal woman was mauled to death by a tiger on Friday (January 24, 2025) morning.

Radha, 47 wife of Achappan, a temporary forest watchman, was attacked by the tiger at the Priyadarshini Estate in Pancharakolly village as she was plucking coffee cherries. Her body was discovered by the Thunderbolt commandos who were combing the area for Maoists around 11.30 a.m. They found the mutilated body as they followed the pug marks of the tiger that had dragged the body into the nearby forest. Her body was shifted to the Government Medical College at Mananthavady.
