BSF killed 41 Bangladeshis in Benapole border in 15 years!
BSF has killed 41 Bangladeshis in 15 years at Benapole border

There is no solution even in the flag meetings. In the last 15 years, 41 Bangladeshis have lost their lives at the hands of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Benapole border in Jessore alone. Hundreds more people were tortured by them. BGB members are also on the kill list. However, not a single trial of such human rights violations at international borders has taken place. Human rights activists said that there should be a strong response to these killings.
It is known that Bangladeshi citizens have to go to the border area and zero line for agriculture work, cattle herding and fishing in order to earn a living. The BSF's frenzy begins when someone mistakenly approaches the barbed wire fence of the Indian border or crosses the unguarded border even slightly.
India still follows the controversial 'suit-on-sight' or 'shoot on sight' policy on the Bangladesh-India border. However, even though the number of bullets has decreased, there are more incidents of torture and cutting the veins of hands and feet and floating them in the river. Bangladeshis are the only victims of their aggression. BSF has killed 41 Bangladeshis on the Sharsha-Benapole border in the last 15 years. Six of them have not yet been identified.
Neighbors of slain BGB member Raic Uddin said that Rais Uddin has sacrificed his life to protect the country at the border. If he had been jailed instead of being shot dead like this, maybe we would have gotten him back.
Abul Kalam, father-in-law of slain BGB member Raich Uddin, said that no Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing has received justice so far. There has not been a single trial of such human rights violations at international borders. Therefore, the relatives of the victims demand that the interim government take initiative to ensure justice for these murders.
Vinay Krishna Mallick, Executive Director of Rights Jessore Human Rights Organization said, "If a person is a criminal, trespasser, he should be caught and prosecuted under the law." It should go government to government, instead they are shooting and killing. He thinks it is a gross violation of human rights.
Jessore branch anti-discrimination student movement convener Rashed Khan said, "We don't want war, war never brings good. Apart from this, the friendly relations between India and Bangladesh should be strengthened.
According to the data of human rights organization Odhikar, 588 Bangladeshis have been tortured by BSF throughout the country in the last 15 years
