Finnish President meets Yunus, advocates for rules-based world
Finland's President Alexander Stubb met with Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus

Finland's President Alexander Stubb met with Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
During their meeting, they discussed key global issues, including the inauguration of Donald Trump as the new US president, the Russia-Ukraine war, the growing role of the Global South in geopolitical affairs, and the Rohingya crisis.
"We need a rules-based world," said the Finnish president.
Yunus also briefed President Stubb on the reform initiatives undertaken by the interim government.
"I wish you all the best," Stubb said.
President Stubb also urged the countries in the "Global South" to take more proactive roles in major international affairs.
The Chief Adviser highlighted the mammoth banking sector looting and plundering committed by Sheikh Hasina's dictatorship. Some US$17 billion were robbed from the banks, he said.
Yunus said his government would hold a major international meeting on the Rohingya crisis to firmly bring the plight of the refugees back into the global discussion.
