The Galaxy Unpacked is just around the corner but we have some rumour news about the Samsung foldable phones. According to The Elec, the company is ready to manufacture approximately 200,000 tri-fold phone units in the second quarter of this year.
Additionally, The Elec learned that Samsung's new tri-fold smartphone could be different from the Huawei Mate XT. For context, the latter has an infolding and outfolding hinge. In Samsung's case, the new tri-fold device could have a pure infolding foldable phone, where both side displays fold inward.
As seen in the cover image above, the tri-fold phone should look similar to the Samsung Display's Flex G foldable display, which is said to measure 10 inches in size. To secure enough time to manufacture parts for the tri-fold phone, Samsung is expected to pump out Galaxy Z Fold 7 production faster than usual.
Besides the alleged tri-fold phone, Samsung was reportedly planning to launch a new Galaxy Z Flip FE this year as well. The Elec further mentioned the company is going to ship 3 million Galaxy Flip 7 units; 2 million Galaxy Fold 7 units; 900,000 Galaxy Flip FE units; and 200,000 tri-fold units
