Press Statement by the Chair of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat
The ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMM Retreat) was convened on 19 January 2025 in Langkawi, Malaysia. The Retreat was the first major meeting under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 with the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability”. The Retreat was also attended by the Foreign Minister of TimorLeste as Observer.
We had candid and in-depth discussions on ASEAN’s priorities in 2025 and the follow-up to the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits to further advance the ASEAN Community, strengthen ASEAN unity and Centrality, and enhance mutually beneficial cooperation with ASEAN partners.
