Major reshuffle in Bangladesh Police: 53 senior officials transferred

The Bangladesh Police has undergone a major reshuffle, with 53 senior officials reassigned to new roles. The transferred officials include 19 additional deputy inspector generals (DIGs), 33 police superintendents, and one additional superintendent.

The transferred officials include 19 additional deputy inspector generals (DIGs), 33 police superintendents, and one additional superintendent.The Ministry of Home Affairs' Public Security Division announced the transfers on Thursday through two separate notifications issued by its Police-1 branch.  

According to one notification, Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, additional DIG of the Mymensingh Range, has been reassigned to APBN-1 in Dhaka, while Additional DIG Sardar Rokonuzzaman, previously with the 8th APBN, has been transferred to the CID. Additionally, Khurshidul Islam and Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, both from the DMP, have been reassigned to RAB, along with 21 other officers.Another notification stated that Raihan Uddin Khan, additional DIG at the Police Headquarters, has been transferred to the CID. Police Superintendent Ahmedul Kabir, formerly stationed at BMP, has been appointed as AIG at the Police Headquarters, where Abdullah Al Jahir has also been assigned as AIG.  

Additionally, Mohammad Nazrul Islam, deputy police commissioner of the DMP, has been transferred to the CID, along with 32 other officers.
